Peter J. Magnotti, along with his partner, founded the stone and marble center in 1950. In 1963 Peters’ son William J. (Pat) Magnotti joined the company after graduating from The Citadel. In 1965 Peter J. Magnotti took over 100% of the company and it became known as Magnotti & Son, Inc. The company continued to supply stone, marble, granite and other unusual building material to the Tri-State area. In 1968 Magnotti & Son opened the first of its three “The Fireplace” stores. By 1972 there were three Fireplace stores in operation, and the company became a major source for fireplaces and fireplace accessories. In 1975 “The Fireplace“ became known as “The Fireplace & Patioplace” with the addition of the finest lines of patio furniture and patio accessories. In 1993 The Fireplace & Patioplace added barbecues to their list of fine products and now boasts one of the largest barbecue centers in the United States. In 2004 we relocated our East store in a 10,000sqft retail location on Rt. 22 in Murrysville. In 2004 we also expanded our north locations and added one in Cranberry. Today along with almost 50 employees The Fireplace and Patioplace specializes in installing Fireplaces, designing Outdoor Barbeque Kitchens and creating beautiful Outdoor Rooms furnished with gorgeous Patio Furniture.
Just had our wood burning fireplace converted to gas. The installers Gary & Greg from South hills ran into some challenges, but they did not give up. They were professional, and kind and got the job done beautifully. We love our new fireplace. Thank you so much!
"It has totally updated the room. Thanks for helping me to find a solution to everything I was concerned about. Chad and Dan were great. Chad made sure I was comfortable with everything and that it was, above all else, safe."
What makes a fantastic store is more than selling good products, it is customer service when things are not right.
We had a fireplace insert installed and your workers were great. They came a few mintues early and waited until 8am shart to come in, my husband saw them and told them to come in . We are very pleased with the work that they did. The plumber was Gary and the installers were Chad and Dan. They were very polite and friendly. We purchased the unit from the McKnight store and the employees there were also very friendly.
Kevin just installed my new remote starter for the gas fireplace. He was prompt, kind, courteous, well-informed and made the installation process very pleasant. He explained everything and I feel very confident in operating my new remote and everything that goes with that process.
Kevin, the technician who came out was very professional, and took the time to give us an incredible overall review of the controller, different uses and details, tips on burning time and the battery back-up which I never knew I had. He was great. Being in the business I know how important customer service is and you have a good one on the front lines for you in Kevin.
